How long does it take to set up an SL?
If we have all the documents and the company name is available, company formation online through the Entrepreneur Service Point (PAE) can be done in about 48 hours. Beforehand, though, we take whatever time is needed to choose the right legal structure, draft articles of association that fit your project and make clear who contributes what.
Am I better off being self-employed or setting up a company?
It depends on your expected income, the risk of the activity and whether there will be partners. As a rule of thumb, with moderate profits it often pays to start out as self-employed, and as the business grows a company lets you plan your taxes better and limit your liability. In company formation, we run the numbers with you before you decide.
What documents do I need to get started?
The partners’ DNI or NIE, the proposed company name, the activity you’ll carry out, the registered address and the capital you’ll contribute. We request the name certificate, draft the articles of association, arrange the signing with the notary and register the company with the Spanish Tax Agency (Hacienda) and, if needed, with Social Security.
And after company formation, what next?
