How we help

Vehicle paperwork: everything to do with your car or motorbike

We handle all vehicle paperwork with the DGT (Spanish traffic authority). Buying or selling a second-hand vehicle involves more paperwork than it seems. We check the vehicle has no outstanding charges, pay the tax and process the transfer with the DGT. We also handle registrations, deregistrations and duplicates.

We check the vehicle report before making the change of ownership. It’s the first step in any vehicle paperwork.

We process everything online with the DGT. Vehicle paperwork can be done remotely.

We handle registrations, deregistrations and changes of ownership for company vehicles.

Frequently asked questions

Common questions about vehicle paperwork

If you have any other questions about vehicle paperwork, write to us and we’ll answer them.

You need the sale contract, the vehicle documents, payment of the property transfer tax and the change-of-ownership application to the DGT. We first check that the vehicle has no liens or outstanding fines, and we handle all the vehicle paperwork so the new documents reach you without you having to queue.

Yes. Everything is done remotely with documents signed by both parties, without anyone having to go to the DGT.

Permanent and temporary deregistrations, duplicate registration certificates, changes of address, vehicle reports, registrations and changes of use, among others. If you manage a company fleet, we also coordinate the vehicle paperwork for every car so you don’t have to spend time on it.

If the paperwork is complete, the application is submitted within a few days and the DGT issues the new registration certificate shortly afterwards. What most often drags the process out is a missing document or a vehicle with outstanding charges, which is why we check everything before we start.

It depends on the procedure. For most matters a copy and the vehicle details are enough, but in some cases we need the original or the vehicle’s technical specification card. Once you tell us what you need, we’ll let you know exactly which documents to bring or send us.

Fines belong to whoever was the registered owner at the time of the offence, but an attachment order or a lien can block the transfer. That’s why we check the vehicle report before doing anything.

Yes. We arrange the permanent deregistration with an authorised treatment facility and send you the certificate so you stop paying road tax.
